OBJECTIVE

To continue to utilize my broad base of skills in project management, customer interaction, and web content development.

EMPLOYMENT

May 2008 – September 2009 eCommerce Administrator, Standard TV & Appliance As eCommerce Administrator, I managed the conceptualization, design and implementation of the Standard TV & Appliance eCommerce website (www.standardtvandappliance.com) over the course of a year. Because I was entrusted with a six figure budget, I spent several months writing specs and vetting proposals before choosing a vendor to implement the programming and backend functionality. I acted as a liaison between the directors and the developers. The site launched in June of 2009.

September 2001 – May 2008 Web Consultant with IPNS, DataBridge Solutions and others Using my network of contacts as a base, I have been providing consultation services to several companies and clients. This has been an expansion of the sort of work I did with IPNS. I have coordinated programming projects, initiated business alliances between DataBridge Solutions and other service providers, designed and implemented ecommerce websites for retail establishments. As a freelancer, I find that I utilize my complete palette of skills over the course of the work-cycle.

January 2006 – September 2007 Web Development Manager IPNS/CSolutions, Portland, OR I was hired to rebuild their web design department (under the CSolutions brand). I managed a pool of contractors: designers, developers, programmers and SEO specialists. I was a substantial part of the sales process, sometimes I handling the entire sale myself. I set the department’s procedures, determined the information architecture in consultation with the client, developed content (text and graphical), performed QA on sites, and managed the client contact process. With the help of the CEO I developed the time-tracking and accounting procedures for the department. I functioned as an advocate for my clients within the company, ensuring they received premium service. I retain this business relationship in my capacity as an offsite consultant.

2002-2004 Magazine Clerk Tower Records, Atlanta, GA A change of pace from my usual employment, I managed the extensive magazine section at the massive Tower Records store in Atlanta. My customers treated me as an authority on their favorite periodicals, even though I may not have been up to speed on, for example, Hot Rod Magazine. I did have a handful of celebrity customers such as Elton John (he lived down the way), Andre3000, and David Lee Roth.

1999-2001 Lead Developer/Creative Director WebXperts Design, Inc., Atlanta, GA As a small company’s primary developer and creative director, I was involved with every level of project development. Though sometimes I worked in conjunction with a programmer, I often provided mid-level programming. On many projects I managed a team of programmers and developers, acting as liaison between the team and the company management. I was intimately involved with business decisions, management issues and company decisions.

1997-2000 Web Developer/Ecommerce Developer MindSpring Enterprises (now Earthlink), Atlanta, GA At MindSpring, I designed, developed and implemented over 60 sites in the course of 2 1/2 years for their web design department. I worked with a team of programmers, developers and project managers on sites for clients such as Coke, Atlanta Zoo, B. Robinson Eyeglasses, Swartz Institutional Finance, Wheeler Kolb, Simmons Direct Mattresses and many others. I was responsible for spearheading the ecommerce solution program.

1994-1997 Adjunct Professor Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Cincinnati, OH I taught computer graphics and desktop publishing classes at Cincinnati State for nearly four years.
